	In 1984 Chris Gonser started a Survey Instrument service and repair business in his home workshop, which he called Geodetic Repair & Service. Chris trained as an Instrument Maker in the world-famous Leica factory in his home country of Switzerland. Chris’ high standards and top-quality workmanship, together with his reputation for putting his customers first, steadily grew his home business and he became widely regarded as a trusted and valued expert in his field. Over the years Chris’ business expanded and his loyal customers began asking if he could also sell new equipment, which he began to do. The business name then changed to Geodetic Supply & Repair. As the years passed and the stock range continued to expand, Chris decided to create a separate division to cater for an exciting new range of specialist leveling and measuring equipment. Laser Tools Australia became the new arm of the business dedicated to promoting and selling innovative new tools from all over the world. The first websites were soon launched – one for Geodetic Supply & Repair and one for Laser Tools Australia. The websites allowed Chris to actively promote his already-thriving business across Australia and he was soon attracting a new and enthusiastic group of interstate customers. As the business continued to grow, more and more products were added to the range and Chris was able to introduce some truly clever and time-saving devices to the Australian market. In recent years there has been an increase in the availability of low-cost, low-quality items and Chris has eliminated these problematic an unsatisfactory products from our range, preferring to concentrate on providing reliable and good-value solutions to his customer’s requirements. As a part of this change, Chris thought it was an excellent time to re-focus our attention on the core values he establish and has re-badged his business as GSR Laser Tools – keeping alive the successes and traditions of Geodetic Supply & Repair and Laser Tools Australia. Since our basic, but practical websites were long overdue for a complete make-over and in keeping with our new name; they’ve now been amalgamated and completely rebuilt into the brand new GSR Laser Tools website that you’re on today. With the launch of our new and highly-efficient website we’ll continue to provide our customers with the same level of service, which has made our company – and its owner, Chris Gonser – famous over the past 26 years. And we’ll be able to keep bringing you the latest products from all over the world - at the best prices - for many more years to come.
